Talking Top Tens: Maria Perez

Co-Founder & Product Manager, Glassful

Glassful Co-Founder and Product Manager, Maria Perez, is an anomaly. If she were a food, she would be Jamon – salty, bold, undeniably Spanish, and great with wine. She also represents the next generation of women leaders in both the worlds of start-ups and wine. Maria moved to NYC from Barcelona, where she lived at a farm for a few months just to find out she wanted to come back to the big city. And so she built Glassful. An entirely new approach to enjoying wine, Glassful is the essential service for people who love wine and living life to the fullest. Glassful opens the world of wine to everyone and makes discovering it as fun, easy, and pleasurable as drinking it. Follow Glassful on Twitter

Alex Prager is an American art photographer and filmmaker who lives and works in Los Angeles. Her photographs primarily use staged sets and models to create “film-like” images that invite a myriad of references, not only to the history of Hollywood and photography, but also to the cinematic image in art contexts.

Alex Trochut is a great spanish typographer from Barcelona who makes me realize all dreams are possible.

What do you love most about your work?

The people I work for and with. The possibility of making a difference in someone’s everyday life is really exciting and I feel proud of it.

The trend you hope never goes out of style:

Jeans! and sailor stripes!

The beauty product found in your bag at all times:

Chanel Rouge Allure N 96 Red Lipstick, I just carry it in my pocket.

Your (real life) hero:

At this point of my life, I would say my co-founder, Adria Jover, because he is capable of keeping up the spirit and motivation under any circumstances. I feel really lucky to have someone so positive by my side, who is capable of learning and solving problems with a smile. Priceless…but I will never tell him that. :)

Your celebrity crush?

Victoria Beckham: because she is reinventing herself over and over…and is an example of there being hope in the hopeless. Remember Spice Girls??

Your last great read:

Madame Bovary. It’s a masterpiece. It reflects the darkest, deepest and most hurtful feelings that a woman can experience.

Your longest lasting friendship?

25 years of friendship with my childhood neighbor. We’ve lived in separate cities for the last 20 years, and I’m so lucky she is now living in NYC. Life always brings the people you love close to you.

You decompress each day by:

Having a walk in the morning, and a glass of wine in the evening.

If you weren’t at your current job, you’d be a...

I can not imagine doing anything else right now, because I am exactly where I want to be. Now my next project is to figure out a way to work close to a beach, that’s for sure…
