Jill Donenfeld is the founder of The Culinistas, a private chef and catering agency in NYC, LA, and Chicago. She is a writer, entrepreneur, and chef with three published cookbooks and recipes appearing in Food & Wine and articles in Men’s Journal and The Huffington Post. She has lived in Madagascar, Southern India, and Sweden to pursue culinary endeavors. One piece of advice you would give your 18 year old self:

Major in bio; minor in comp sci; invest in Apple. 

Your most recent culinary discovery / obsession:

Carrot cake donut from Doughnut Plant, toasting pepitas with lime and turmeric, homemade marshmallows. 

Midnight snack of choice:

Savory: thick toast with butter and anchovies. Sweet: sakura mochi. 

Skincare product you can’t live without:

Drinking water–it’s the only thing I can stick to.

The only place I like to brunch is at my grandma’s country club. It’s a buffet, lots of smoked salmon, everyone scooping out their bagels, many putting cookies in their handbags.
