And more with Laura Dave…

Your most recent culinary discovery and obsession:

We visited friends at their summer home in Rhode Island and were greeted with a great spinach quiche. My mother used to eat quiche all the time when I was growing up - now that all that I want to eat is quiche, I’m convinced I’m turning into her.

At 9 am each day, you are...

These days I’m sitting at my favorite coffee shop, and working on the movie adaptation of Eight Hundred Grapes. I’m writing the script for Fox2000.

A secret talent we should know about:

I love cooking and preparing large meals (for anyone who is interested!) several nights a week.

You decompress each day by:

Cooking with my husband. He’s a writer as well (a screenwriter) and we both think it’s a great way to shut down for the day.

Your last takeout order:

Goat cheese pizza, which was fantastic.

Your most quirky characteristic:

I listen to music while I write - the same song on repeat. Each novel, the song changes.

Cocktail of choice:

A dry martini.

Where does your credit card get the most use?

Babbo. I love sitting at the bar there and having a great meal and a great glass of wine.

Your go-to power outfit:

A black Helmut Lang dress. I can dress it up or down, and it goes well with everything.

Midnight snack of choice:

A scoop of vanilla and a scoop of chocolate ice cream. It cannot be beat.
