Wendy Rowe is an international makeup artist, beauty expert, and author, with more than 20 years of experience in of working in the fashion and beauty industry. The queen of flawless skin, she consistently works with leading fashion and beauty publications such as Vogue and i-D and renowned photographers including Camilla Åkrans and Mario Testino. Her client list includes the likes of Burberry (for whom she is Artistic Consultant) and Chanel, Sienna Miller and Nicole Kidman. Wendy’s best-selling book Eat Beautiful is filled with easy and delicious recipes, invaluable beauty advice, a herbal pharmacy, and simple beauty tips that are easy to incorporate into daily routines to achieve amazing skin. What do you love most about your work:

No day is ever the same and I love the opportunity to be creative and work with so many inspiring people and amazing faces every day. I feel privileged to do something I love and to have so much fun at work. A lot of the people I work with have also become friends over the years, like Sienna Miller, Camilla Arkans, Anja Rubik to name just a few—it’s very special, a bit like a family 

Skincare product you can’t live without and why:

There are lots of skincare products I couldn’t live without, not just one—I’m obsessed with amazing skin! I love Joelle Cioccos skincare and would panic if I ran out of that at home. I would never go to bed with my makeup on, so Bioderma and Lancome Bi-Facial eye makeup remover are also total must-haves in my bathroom cabinet for makeup removal before cleansing. I couldn’t leave the house without moisturiser or eye cream, and for me, Sarah Chapman Dynamic Defence and Sarah Chapman Eye Recovery really suit my skin. Skinade supplement is amazing for a hectic schedule—you just add to water and take once a day but you really notice a boost to your skin health. You do need to take it every day though for at least 30 days to notice a difference so I’d need to restock that if I ran out!

Go-­to workout song on your most recent playlist:

I love music—especially anything that makes you feel up and lifts the mood, both for working out and when I’m at work too. I love everything from Madonna and Prince through to radio 1 playlists and recently I’ve been really into anything by Dua-Lipa

Your last great read and why you enjoyed it:

I really enjoyed Fragile by Franco Gobbi. It’s a book to look at rather than read, full of gorgeous, inspiring art images.

At 9am each day, you are:

If I’m not already at work by then, I’ll be at Body By Simone if I’m in New York or LA—I love the dance workouts there, they always make me feel energised and positive, or if I’m in London I might be either playing tennis, doing Yoga at the light centre or walking my dog Teddy.

You decompress each day by:

I like to meditate and take time for my mind body and soul after a hectic day. I like to use a space clearing spray first—Matter and Home do a great one and I like inhaling Decleor aromessence oils before I start too—it’s a great way to take the time to ground your senses and give yourself a moment.

The pair of jeans you will never grow tired of:

I’ve recently bought a couple of pairs of the same style black jeans from Frame denim and I love them. They are super comfy for work or traveling in and fit me really well. 

Favorite pizza topping:

I love pizza, it’s one of my favourite indulgences, but it has to be amazing if I’m going to have it. My favourite topping is margherita with rocket—I’ve actually included a home made pizza recipe in my book Eat Beautiful, it’s a more healthy option but it tastes so good! You can always adapt the topping depending on what you like best using ingredients that are in season.

Something you never see going out of style is:

Gorgeous skin. It never goes out of fashion and people are always asking me what skincare they should use, the best makeup to create flawless skin and of course what they should be eating. I’m known for creating amazing skin and that’s why I decided to write down all of my tips and tricks in my book, Eat Beautiful, it’s something I use myself all the time to refer to when I need a natural remedy or seasonal skin boosting recipe and it’s so nice to be able to give it as a gift so that I can share all of my knowledge with people. 

What’s the most exciting thing in your life right now:

My new puppy Teddy! It’s the first time I’ve had a dog so it’s been really exciting but also hard work! I’d thought about getting a puppy for ages before finally taking the plunge this summer! He’s a cockapoo (you’ll find lots of pictures of him on my Instagram and he loves treats, his toy fox and going out for lots of walks in the park.
