VP of Brand Content at Bumble

Alex started with Bumble in October 2014, just before the female-led dating application launched in December of that same year. Bumble founder, Whitney Wolfe, originally hired Alex to launch Bumble in Dallas, TX. Within three weeks, Alex expanded beyond her Dallas-focused role and took over their social media. Her role quickly evolved and she is now the VP of Brand Content, overseeing all of Bumble’s content and managing the brand's voice. This includes the daily content that goes into their Instagram account, @bumble. “In other words, I think in meme,” says Alex.

What do you love most about your work?

Alex

I get to wake up every day and create happy content that connects with people, and makes people laugh. Life is hard enough as it is, I feel so grateful that at Bumble, we get to help improve people's lives and help them find the people who end up mattering most to them. Success stories keep our team going. And then there's my team. I get to work with some of the most inspiring, creative, high-energy and innovative people. It's an honor to be a part of Bumble. It sounds cheesy, but every day I get to be in the office collaborating with our team is a good day.

What piece of advice would you give your 18-year-old self?

Alex

Stop waiting for the perfect moment and get busy doing things. I overanalyze everything, and I wanted to work in the film industry, so in my early 20s I dismissed opportunities that seemed like the wrong path. Whitney Wolfe is magic, so when she asked me to help market Bumble, I joined without question. I had no idea that Bumble would lead me down a path of content creation, and put me right where I wanted to be all along.

Hauling ass to the office, late as usual, wondering why I can't make it anywhere on time.

Skill or sport you are dying to learn:

Alex

A foreign language, the guitar and the 3 C's: cooking, cleaning, and crafting. I'm the least domesticated human alive... my lucky fiancé.

Favorite pizza topping:

Alex

Pepperoni, jalapeno, and a side of ranch dressing. No ranch is almost grounds for me to pass on pizza (don't judge me)!

Tequila, soda, lime. Every time.

Jeans, heels and a little makeup. That's usually the day I try to put in a little effort for my fiancé, since he's usually lucky if I've washed my face during the work week.

Where does your credit card get the most use?

Alex

I'm guilty with Gilt -- I cave to the marketing gimmicks of flash sales. My least proud accomplishment is being a Gilt Noir member, because I've spent so much money there.

A Bumble engagement video got me to tears the other day.
