R&S

What inspired you to start Mommy Diary:

Angela

I started Mommy Diary around the time I was slowly coming out of the postpartum depression fog. I was seeking new ways to connect with others and share honest motherhood stories so others don’t feel alone like I did.

What do you love most about your work:

Angela

My favorite part of my work is that I can set my own hours, be around for the kids and do what I love like writing and photography as a job. It’s not always easy blending motherhood and work, but I wouldn’t have it any other way until my kids are older.

Best career advice you’ve ever received:

Angela

Don’t be afraid of the time it’ll take to do something. The time will pass anyway.

R&S

One thing you wish you knew before becoming a mother:

Angela

I wish I knew that it’s okay to ask for help, that asking for help isn’t a sign of weakness but an important form of self-care.

Best tips for working moms:

Angela

There’s no such thing as perfect balance. If you’re productive at work, motherhood suffers and if you’re killing it as a mom, work is unproductive. Some days you’ll feel like you’re failing at everything but that’s okay—try again anyway.

R&S

You decompress each day by:

Angela

I decompress each day by reading, meditating or journaling while diffusing essential oils. When my mind won’t shut down, I use guided meditations instead.

R&S

Favorite way to stay fit:

Angela

It’s hard for me to stick to a strict gym schedule so I do 30-minute workouts at home by using Mirror, a home workout system.

R&S

Your go-to power outfit:

Angela

Well-fitting jeans in the latest cut, a good quality white shirt, and an oversized blazer. I’ll pair them with cute loafers or flats during the day and dress them up with pretty stilettos at night time. Then finish off the outfit with statement earrings, sunglasses, and a cute bag!

R&S

Your most recent beauty or fashion obsession:

Angela

Thanks to lash extensions, my morning routine now takes less than 5 minutes. It’s life changing!

What apps and gadgets can’t you live without:

Angela

VSCO for photo editing and Plann for curating my Instagram feed.
