How did you get your start at Hourglass:

Chanel

I started working for Hourglass in 2015 as a PR intern. I remember being so nervous. I had only worked in a retail setting prior to the internship and working at the headquarters of one of my favorite makeup brands felt surreal and terrifying. I’ve worked in a variety of roles since and it’s been amazing to grow and flourish with the company.

What inspired you to pursue a career in beauty:

Chanel

I’ve wanted to be a makeup artist for as long as I can remember. My mother used to model and I loved seeing how makeup could transform someone and make them feel their best. I feel like the beauty industry was the only one I ever imagined myself in.

What do you love most about your work:

Chanel

I love being able to meet so many people as part of my job. I’ve had the opportunity to connect with and be inspired by so many unbelievable people including photographers, models, influencers, writers, CEOs, actresses, and other makeup artists.

Walk us through a typical work day:

Chanel

Every day is different! Some days are spent at our headquarters in Venice, CA working in our content studio creating educational videos or social media content. Other days are spent at press events, on-site at photo shoots or even in another country! My job is never boring and I’m so grateful for that.

Describe your personal beauty routine:

Chanel

My beauty routine is very makeup-focused (of course). I am completely clueless when it comes to hair, so my motto has always been if my face looks good, everything else will fall into place. I try to keep my skincare in the mornings pretty simple: cleanse, tone, a strong moisturizer with SPF, then makeup. My everyday makeup is a full face, complexion perfected and some form of a smokey eye.

Your most recent beauty discovery and obsession:

Chanel

My ice roller. I’m completely obsessed with it. Every morning after I wash my face, I take it out of the freezer and roll away. It helps with depuffing and increases blood circulation to the face. Plus it’s so cold, it helps me wake up.

What’s a beauty trend you predict will catch on this year:

Chanel

I think we’re going to move away from the look of heavy contouring and will start to embrace natural looking skin. That doesn’t mean that foundation or concealer will go anywhere, those are here to stay, but the look will be a lot more seamless and skin will just look like skin.

R&S

Favorite Hourglass product:

Chanel

My favorite product changes depending on my mood, but I live and die for our No. 28 Lip Treatment Oil. I keep one in my bag, one on my bedside table and one in my car. It’s a miracle for dry lips and is my favorite gift to give.

You decompress each day by:

Chanel

Either swimming or a glass of red wine. Sometimes both.
