The Interview — Elizabeth Chambers Hammer, Journalist, Entrepreneur, and Owner of BIRD Bakery
Elizabeth Chambers Hammer is a successful entrepreneur, journalist, mother, wife of actor Armie Hammer and owner of the wildly popular BIRD Bakery with locations in San Antonio and Dallas, TX. Elizabeth has served as a judge on several Food Network shows, and is known for her correspondence and hosting roles with E! News, CNBC and a variety of shows on NBC, CBS and FOX networks. Elizabeth currently serves as Chief Correspondent for the Human Rights Foundation where she has interviewed influential newsmakers. Along with her humanitarian contribution, Elizabeth has a love for baking, which began at an early age. Learning from her caterer grandmother and health food shop owner mother, Elizabeth realized that there was a lack of bakeries that fit her standards for a delicious home-baked treat. With this, the idea for BIRD Bakery was born. Keep up to date with Elizabeth and BIRD bakery by following @elizabethchambers and @birdbakery.

What do you love most about your work:
I love the variety of my work and I love the people. I love interviewing a wide range of people for my work in journalism and I love helping to celebrate milestones with our wonderful guests at BIRD. Because I have two very different jobs and judge Cupcake Wars and Sugar Showdown as well, my work is truly never boring and for that, I'm grateful.

One piece of advice you would give your 18 year old self:
Keep doing, not dreaming and it will all work out. My mom always taught us to keep our goals clearly in focus and to work tirelessly for them. I would remind myself of what my mother ingrained in me at a young age. I would also tell myself not to let anyone tweeze or wax my brows. That was a mistake.
Midnight snack of choice:
Homemade Vanilla Blue Bell Ice Cream is the best midnight snack. Fuji apples with chunky peanut butter, if I'm exercising some form of self-restraint.
Skincare product you can’t live without:
I love clean products and am passionate about my skincare. DNA, Isun (Rhassoul Refining Exfoliant), Carasoin Cold Fusion cream, and Kypris (1,000 Roses Beauty Elixir and Antioxidant Dew) are the lines that are truly clean while being effective.
Your motto in life:
Live every day like it's your last. I love this Emerson quote and try to be mindful of the fact that every single moment of this life is a gift. "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor."
At 9am each day, you are:
Responding to emails on my phone or computer. Also, coordinating children and on my second kombucha if I'm in the states and second cup of tea if I'm traveling.
The pair of jeans you will never grow tired of:
High-waisted super skinny black J Brands. They are flattering with everything and I live in mine.
Nail color currently on your hands and feet:
Cocktail of choice:
Champagne and St-Germaine. Anything with St-Germaine really. Fun fact, the top of the St-Germaine bottle was the inspiration for the interior of the original BIRD bakery location in San Antonio.
