The Interview — Jess Atkins, Co-founder, Stylebook
Jessica Atkins is the co-founder of Stylebook, a closet organization and wardrobe management app for the iPhone and iPad. Passionate about improving and developing personal style with technology, she hopes that women will be able to get more out of their closet by tracking what clothes they own and how they use them. Inspiration for the app came from her experiences organizing sample clothing as an intern in the Vogue fashion closet in college. Jess currently lives in Princeton, NJ with her husband and co-founder Bill Atkins. Follow Stylebook on Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest.

Your most regrettable purchase / style phase:
My biggest mistake was wearing ill-fitting clothes. I’m barely 5’3” so everything is usually too long or the proportions are wrong. I never shopped for petite sizes so I always looked sloppy. Luckily I’ve learned what works for me, where I should shop, and I found a good tailor.
What do you love most about your work?
Style doesn’t come naturally to me, but seeing everything I have in one place helps me look put together. I feel really happy when I get an email from someone who had a similar experience and was able to find their personal style thanks to Stylebook.

A flattering long sleeve dress, stud earrings, heels, and a bun.
A secret talent we should know about:
I paint vegetable watercolors for Garden State on Your Plate, an organization that introduces vegetables to elementary school children in Princeton. They organize veggie tasting with local chefs and the kids are able to choose which prep method they like best.
Your favorite restaurant for brunch and your go-to order:
Agricola in downtown Princeton. Their sweet sticky bun is the best. I don’t have it often, but when I do, it’s sooo good!
