Dr. Lara Devgan, Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon

I started out as an artist who loved anatomy, and ended up as the perfect combination of those two things—a plastic surgeon!

I love participating in the happiness and confidence of others. We all want to put our best selves into the world, and it brings me so much joy to help others feel like the best versions of themselves.

Surgery as a profession is still very much a man’s world. Being a woman in a male-dominated field requires thick skin, an even temperament, and a resilient mind.

My father, a head and neck surgeon, taught me to always do the right thing—not the easy thing—for my patients. It is because of him that I gravitate toward responsibility. He gave me the simplest but best litmus test for figuring out what to do in a tricky medical or surgical situation: I ask myself, “What would I advise my mother or sister to do?” If it’s not the right thing for my family, it’s not the right thing for my patients.

I love being busy, and I spend my days doing many things. On a typical day, I might be seeing patients for minimally invasive injectable contouring procedures, performing surgeries like facelifts and breast augmentations, recording my podcast, meeting with my team about the newest skincare products in development, and doing an interview for a magazine about the latest trends in plastic surgery. When I am passionate about something, I fully immerse in it.

Detail-oriented, meticulous, compassionate.

I use my own products religiously—Hyaluronic Serum, Eye Repair Complex, and SPF BB cream in the morning, and Vitamin C, Glow Serum, and Platinum Long Lash at night.

Pure decadence for me sounds like reading a novel in my pajamas at 10 am, sipping on a cappuccino, with classical music on in the background, and my kids playing quietly nearby. (For the record, this is a pure fantasy!)  

I developed a game-changing lip gloss, Platinum Lip Plump, that uses hyaluronic, niacin, and ceramides to create a visible plumping to the lips—it looks like a syringe of filler and nourishes your lips with healthy ingredients. It’s the runaway best-seller of my line and the one product that is always in my purse.

I have some big (secret) plans for my skincare line coming up! We are also working on a big brand expansion.
