Her first book, Power Your Happy: Work Hard, Play Nice & Build Your Dream Life, published by Dutton in September 2016, details how she started POPSUGAR and outlines her “work hard, play nice” management style, as well as lessons learned from mentoring a large and diverse staff. What do you love most about your work:

The people and the pace. I am constantly challenged and learning new things from our team as well as adapting to the times. We have people with so many varied skills, and learning them together has made this journey so incredible for the past 10 years.

One piece of advice you would give your 18-year-old self:
Lisa
It’s OK to not know what you want to do yet! We stress so much about declaring majors in college and needing to know what we want to do when really we should be trying different jobs and learning basic work skills as well and taking away what we like and don’t like about each job.

So hard to pick just one, but I love anything sweet. I love a great bowl of sugary cereal like Fruity Pebbles, a Hostess cupcake or a toasted marshmallow.

At my desk cranking through email and drinking my favorite morning smoothie (POPSUGAR fitness flat-belly smoothie with kale, pineapple, blueberries, almond butter, and yogurt)

Bomber jackets. I was thrilled when this trend came back into style a couple years ago, because I had saved my favorite Marc Jacobs bomber for over 10 years! Plus I’ve added a handful more to my collection;)
