The Interview —

Lizzie Means Duplantis and Sarah Means, Founders of Miron Crosby

Sarah & Lizzie: We are ranch kids, so cowboy boots have always been very much a part of our lifestyle. After college, we both lived in New York City, and recognized that people really responded to our personal boot collections. We had talked about launching our brand for years, and then one day we looked at each other and said “It’s time.” Looking back now, it was the best decision we ever made, and we have loved bringing high fashion to cowboy boots and carving out our niche—boots that are not just for the ranch or the rodeo.

Lizzie: “Keep at it, there is a solution somewhere that may not be obvious. There is a way to find an answer—you just have to be creative. And also, you can do it, and you can have it all! I think we as women wear so many hats—it’s empowering to be mindful that yes we can.”

Sarah: “Get out of your comfort zone and stay there. Get comfortable being uncomfortable.” 

Sarah & Lizzie: We love to meet early for a coffee so we can be social and catch up on our lives before we dive into a work day. We both try to spend some portion of the day in the shop, then we generally regroup at our office for calls, design sessions, or meetings.

Sarah & Lizzie: We are both runners, so by the time we meet for coffee we have already had a workout. At the end of a day, we love a good margarita with girlfriends. Also, when all else fails, we call our Mom!

Lizzie: A feminine dress and shorty boots.

Sarah: A high-waisted skirt with a sweater and midi boots.

Sarah & Lizzie: Skins are here to stay. We are all in on python right now. 

Lizzie: iCal, Audible for books on tape, my Nespresso, and the Cherry app for local in-home manicures.

Sarah: The Southwest Airlines app, my electric kettle, Calm for meditation, and—let’s be honest—Instagram. 

Lizzie: Whataburger drive-thru.

Sarah: Frozen mini-Reese’s cups.

Lizzie: I recently had a facial with microblading and it changed my life.

Sarah: I cried watching the Brandon Maxwell show online last week. He is incredible and I love that he’s a Texas boy. 

Lizzie: My husband recently bought his own business, and we are enjoying navigating being entrepreneurs together. It’s certainly not always easy, and we are in totally different fields, but sharing the experience of running our own businesses is special and exciting! Also, I’m learning to play Mahjong with my girlfriends, and I’m hooked!

Sarah: Miron Crosby! Every day we face a new challenge. I love building our brand and it is all the more special to be a business partner with my best friend/sister.
