If you’ve ever searched for beauty tips and tutorials on Pinterest, Instagram, or YouTube, then you’ve probably seen Sona Gasparian, as the beauty guru’s big brown eyes are hard to miss. For the LA-based Armenian makeup artist and Pérsona Cosmetics founder, makeup was a way for her to escape her insecurities growing up, while struggling with severe acne AND trying to fit in after moving to America at age 12.
Taking what she learned in art school and from practicing on her co-workers at her mortuary job, Sona used her talent to embark on the journey of becoming an established makeup artist, studying at Make-Up Designory (MUD) in Los Angeles, and later working for MAC Cosmetics.
Today, with over 52 million views on YouTube, a successful blog, and thriving cruelty-free beauty line (now sold in ULTA), Sona has built an inspiring community and go-to platform, sharing stylings shaped by her user-friendly, DIY makeup tutorials, helpful expert advice, relatable girl talk, female empowerment, and discussions about vulnerable experiences that have made her stronger. Starting my own beauty brand was always my dream, so once I felt that I had a stable community of followers that trusted me and believed in what I was doing, I knew it was time to make that goal a reality. And so, Pérsona Cosmetics was born!

Honestly, there is so much of me in every single product I create that I can’t choose. But, I will say that my favorite shade in the Identity Palette is Goddess, which is a beautiful bronze shimmery shade. And of course, Zuma from the CaliGlow highlighter collection is my go-to for a sun-kissed glow.
