When I think of fashion icons that stand the test of time, Audrey Hepburn immediately jumps to the top of the list. Over her career, spanning nearly four decades, she became synonymous with her style. Her minimalistic, modern fashion sense continues to affect culture and trends today.

Though she was known to be a trendsetter at the time, over the years, her style has been considered timeless. Over the next two decades, Hepburn starred in several film projects including “Funny Face,” “Sabrina,” “Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” and “My Fair Lady.” She continued to earn awards and accolades for her work on screen. However, her career went beyond entertainment. She spent a major part of her life as a humanitarian as well, and became a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in 1988. She advocated for children’s rights, and traveled around the world in doing so. Four years later, Hepburn received the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian award given in the U.S.

Hepburn made a name for herself as an actress and humanitarian, and also secured her place in the fashion hall of fame throughout her life. Both on and off-screen, Hepburn’s style became iconic. Her focus on clean lines, neutral shades, and sharp tailoring turned her simple ensembles into iconic looks.
