Pro tip: Sign in to your Zappos VIP account before you check out. Some coupon codes require it, and it’s also how you earn points toward future savings. You’ll get one point per dollar spent (or two points per dollar if you link your Amazon Prime membership), and every 100 points can be redeemed for $1 off a future purchase.

Zappos gives you a promo code for 10% off your first purchase when you sign up for emails. The offer is for new subscribers only, and the code will be sent to the email address you provide. Once you're signed up, you'll also get updates on new arrivals, sales, and special offers, so the savings will keep coming long after that first 10% off.

Zappos has a pretty great sneaker selection of around 1,000 women's styles. Prices start at just $19.99, and you'll find popular brands like HOKA, On, Adidas, New Balance, and Allbirds. A lot of styles are discounted, too, with some even marked down by up to 50% off. If you're not sure where to start with a selection this big, narrowing it down by subcategory can help. You can filter by running shoes, athletic shoes, lifestyle sneakers, or cleats to find exactly what you're looking for.

Zappos has a huge boots and sandals selection, with everything from cozy UGG® boots to Birkenstock slides and platform heels from brands like Sam Edelman, Crocs, and AllSaints. You can use a coupon for $70 off boots and more, or one for $40 off flats, sandals, heels, and boots. Plenty of styles are already marked down in Zappos' boot and sandal deal sections, too.

Zappos VIP is free to join and comes with two main perks. You get faster shipping on every order, and you can earn points that turn into coupons.

The shipping benefit alone makes it worth signing up. As a member, you'll get free expedited shipping on every order, so your shoes arrive in one to three business days instead of the usual three to five, and you skip the $15 fee.

The points are just as easy to rack up. You earn one point for every dollar you spend, or two points per dollar if you link your Amazon Prime account, plus bonus points on select brands. Logging in on any given day earns you another five points, and writing a review earns you 10. Once you hit 100 points, you've got $1 off your next order, which you'll apply through a discount code in whole-dollar increments.

You get free standard shipping on every Zappos order in the U.S., and returns are free too. Most packages arrive in about three to five business days, which isn’t bad—but if you join Zappos VIP, you’ll get free expedited shipping that delivers in one to three days.

Here's a quick rundown of the best ways to save on Zappos, all in one place.

• Email sign-up: Sign up for Zappos emails, and you'll get a coupon code for 10% off sent straight to your inbox.
• App download: With the Zappos app, you'll get access to app-only coupons that you won't find on the website.
• Free shipping: Every Zappos order in the U.S. comes with free standard shipping, and returns are free, too.
• Zappos VIP: Join Zappos VIP, and you'll earn one point per dollar spent (two if you link Amazon Prime), bonus points on select brands, five points for logging in each day, and 10 points for leaving a review. For every 100 points you earn, you'll get $1 off a future order. And as a member, you'll also get free expedited shipping on every order.
• Sale and clearance: In the Zappos sale section, you can find discounts of up to 70% off, though most items tend to fall in the 25% to 30% off range. For the deepest markdowns, check the clearance section, which covers women's, men's, and kids' shoes, clothing, and bags.
• Event codes: Zappos occasionally releases limited-time promo codes during sales events, like the extra 40% off select styles code on this page.

A few things to keep in mind:

• Some Zappos coupon codes only work when you’re logged in to your account, so it’s worth signing in before you head to checkout.
• Zappos doesn't currently offer student, teacher, or military discounts, though they have run those promotions in the past at around 10% off. We'll be sure to update you here on this page if they bring them back.

My pick right now is the 35% off sitewide code. It’s the biggest sitewide discount on the page, so you can use it on everything from HOKA sneakers to UGG boots. Pair it with Zappos’ free shipping (no minimum required), and you’re saving before you even get to checkout.

Before you place your order, sign in to your Zappos VIP account so your purchase earns points toward a future discount, too.
